SONS ANNOUNCES RECORD WEBSITE HITS
IN WAKE OF SURVEY RELEASE
Save Our Necks today announced a record number of website hits for the month of September. Hits topped 3600 as a result of its release of the survey results for candidates for Accomack County Supervisor, the latest filing in our lawsuit against the County and a number of new content items including the aerial photo section.
Average hits per month have been around 2000 for the last six months, having previously peaked in June 2006 at 2200 when the minimum lot size issue came before the Board of Supervisors.
SON’s hits for the two weeks just ended were 2600 and the monthly total currently exceeds 3500. Nearly 41% came from Verizon alone and more than 23% from other, identifiable Shore ISPs. The relative percentages are statistically significant because they are much higher than the usual monthly averages.
Individual page hits are also counted. Survey responses for Terry Elliott, Candidate from Chincoteague (D1), and Phil McCaleb, Candidate from Craddockville (D9) were both heavily read. The new aerial photo section was also well hit. The SONs’ analysis of the survey results was read by more than 2000 viewers.
These are staggering results and a huge endorsement of the message SONs conveys. It demonstrates the level of interest people have for these important Shore issues. Your continued support is very important as we approach the election and future issues.
If SONs is to be branded as a “special interest group”, as we have been accused, let it be because we agree that the Eastern Shore IS a special place and our group HAS a special interest in protecting it.
